Home Inspection Services

At Queen City, we provide everything you need to make an informed decision about a home purchase. We also offer services for sellers and homeowners who want to ensure that their property is in the best shape possible. Part of our home inspection process includes utilizing some of the industry’s best tools. During your walkthrough, you may see our home inspector utilize the following equipment:

Thermal Imaging – With this high-tech tool, we’re able to find things that can’t be seen with the naked eye. Hot spots, energy loss, leaks inside walls, and much more can be revealed by thermal imaging.

Moisture Meter – We use a moisture meter to look for areas in your future home where moisture accumulates. This is also a helpful resource for detecting mold growth.

Carbon Monoxide Detector –We utilize a carbon monoxide detector for your protection. If excessive amounts of carbon monoxide are detected, it’s important to get the issue corrected before buying the home.

Gas Leak Detector – Small gas leaks are often unnoticed until they become a big problem. Fortunately, our gas leak detector can find leaks that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Drone Photography – With the use of a drone we are able to take high quality photos and video of the roof when we are unable to walk it during the inspection.

Buyer’s Home Inspection

A professional home inspection is the best way to ensure that your dream home isn’t actually your worst nightmare. Our licensed home inspector will go above and beyond North Carolina’s residential inspection Standards of Practice. You’ll receive a thorough inspection report within 24 hours, and we’ll always be here to answer any questions you may have.

Each inspection includes (but is not limited to):

  • Exterior
  • Roofing
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Heating
  • Air Conditioning
  • Interiors
  • Insulation & Ventilation
  • Built-In Kitchen Appliances

Pre-Listing / Seller’s Inspection

Placing your home on the market without getting a Pre-Listing Inspection is like putting the proverbial cart before the horse. That’s why so many sellers in the Charlotte Area rely on us for this inspection service. You’ll learn the highlights and lowlights of your property’s current condition. With your completed inspection report, you’ll be in a much better position to accurately describe the house and choose a realistic asking price.

New Construction Inspection

Walking into your newly constructed home is a wonderful feeling. But if the builder took several shortcuts or made a few unsightly mistakes, that good feeling won’t last. Fortunately, you can avoid a disappointing move-in day by utilizing our New Construction Inspection service. We’ll check everything out to ensure it’s in great shape and will report back to you about any issues.

11-Month / Builder’s Warranty Inspection

It’s a wise move to get your house professionally inspected before your one-year builder’s warranty expires. During this service, we’ll look for any existing issues or defects that should be covered by your warranty. Scheduling this inspection for 11 months after you take possession will give you ample time to file a claim for any applicable issues.

Home Maintenance Inspection

Don’t fall into the trap of letting your home slide into disrepair. Our inspector has an extensive background in residential maintenance, which makes him the ideal choice for your regular Home Maintenance Inspections. During this service, we’ll check the condition of the home’s most critical systems and components. This is the best way to catch issues when they’re small enough to repair instead of letting them balloon into expensive replacements.

Re-Inspections

The last thing you should do before closing the deal is make sure every agreed upon repair has been completed. Our Re-Inspection service is a great way to verify the status of repairs, along with finding out if there are any new last-minute issues in the home. Getting a Re-Inspection can help protect you from taking on the cost of repairs that the owner promised to rectify.

Radon Testing

Every home in North Carolina and South Carolina should be inspected for radon before being purchased. After all, excessive radon causes more than 21,000 lung cancer deaths every year in the U.S. alone. There’s no way to detect radon levels in your home without getting it tested, which is why the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends regular testing for buyers and homeowners. Clients who bundle a Radon Test with a Home Inspection service will save $25.

Water Testing

The water you drink could potentially be filled with bacteria and other harmful pathogens that can’t be seen or smelled. This problem is especially common with well water, but it can also occur in homes with city water. We will collect water samples and have them tested in a professional lab. You will receive the full results within a few days.
